Beginners Children’s Arabic Level 1
NEW TIME: Every Saturday / 3.15pm – 4.30pm
Starting Saturday 13 Oct
Venue: Iqra Academy
Open to school age boys and girls. (Ages 7 -12)
Children have a natural aptitude to learn a new language so our children’s Arabic course is taught very differently from the adult course. We focus on learning language through immersion rather than grammar; making the children learn as much vocabulary as possible through the use of interactive class sessions. The course progresses from simple memorisation of objects (fruits, clothing, colours, shapes etc.) to creating basic sentences. English usage is kept to a minimum in the class to help children attain confidence in spoken Arabic.
The course is of a variable length as we want the children to learn at a steady pace before moving onto more advanced Arabic (children stories, writing short pieces etc.). The course also includes regular exams with full individual feedback to the parents on their children’s progression. Class sizes are also kept small. New intake will be accepted once a year.
No previous knowledge of Arabic is presumed – however, children who can read Arabic or are in the process of learning to read the Qur’ān will be at an advantage
By the end of Level 1, students should:
• Possess a practical Arabic vocabulary between 500 (minimum) to 1500 words.
• Implicitly understand the basic grammar rules (pronouns, adjectives, prepositions etc.)
• Have hundreds of hours of Arabic reading and writing skills through the homeworks
